Sydney house fire suspicious: police

POLICE believe a fire at a house in Sydney's west was a targeted arson attack.

Two adults and five children in the Rooty Hill house at the time all escaped uninjured.

The fire broke out about 3.30am (AEDT) on Saturday but NSW Fire and Rescue officers managed to contain damage to the front of the building.

Police believe it was a targeted attack and have appealed for information from the public.
